Now that the oregon 3rd period goose season is a week into it, I figured I ought to post up a few pictures of what has been going on. I have hunted all of our hunt days in the 3rd period so far, 2 saturdays, 1 sunday, and a wednesday so far. Everyday has consisted of limits besides the opening saturday where we ran into some other hunts causing problems, but all in all things have been great.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply! I have been really busy with school and baseball day in and day out.

Yes, I use Dave Smith Decoys. I dont own any myself yet, but next year I will have 1-2 dozen. Usually the guys I hunt with have DSD\'s or I borrow them from some friends:P  You cant complain about good friends allowing you to borrow the best decoys on the market.

But, I really like to run small spreads with these decoys. They are so realistic that there is no reason to add more then 20-30 of them in a spread. I feel that the more decoys you have (in certain situations, more can be less, less can be more) you give yourself a bigger chance for mistakes. If I am on the X, then a dozen decoys will do the job. If I am traffic hunting I like noise, and I like big visuals for those huge flocks of cacklers.
