Well we finally got to start of our 2008-2009 hunting season on Saturday!
Went with Dad and met some new friends that we hunted with on Sauvie Island
and we ended up with 9 ducks total.
It was pretty slow, but a really fun and beautiful day!
I ended up getting 3 ducks. 1 greenhead and a hen, and a young Pintail drake.

Here are a few pics that sum the trip up!

Hey Andrew, Looks like you had a blast with your dad.

My dad went to heaven a few 2 years ago.  I greatly miss sittin with him in the blind.

Anyway, sorry almost teared up there... First photo, awesome with the sun coming up or going down not sure which.

Did you have to do much calling on opening day or did they just come in?

Hey Andrew, man enjoy the time you are blessed with your dad in the blind. My dad loves to hunt like I do but he lives seven hours away. Needless to say with his schedule and mine we dont get opportunities to hunt together. So enjoy your time. Sounds like you had a good hunt. I have a week and two days to go till opener. God bless Darin

Thanks guys!

And yes hunting with Dad is a blast!

And all but one of our birds was called in.  We were off the main fly pattern of the ducks so we had to call a lot to bring them over.
It was a great day to get my meat calling back in shape!  Also really fun to work the birds in... very satisfying!

The first pic is of the sunrise!  it was amazing!
