Hey these two passages hit me right now with the following observation(s) and thoughts:
I am not picking or putting down our elected officials, but they and the rest of our nation need massive intercession.
This current economic crash (call it what you like) there has been no (none that I have heard any way) cry to God. We as a nation, are trying to fix the situation on our own it seems. Throwing money at the problems, etc. etc..
I fear, we as a nation, have become prideful and we do not seek Him. We have the mentality that we can do this on our own and that there is no more room for God. We have taken Him out of our schools and our Judicial system. Basically all the areas that are and were the foundation of our great nation. All these areas were founded on Godly principles, and I know that is the reason for our prosperity. But we as a nation have lost the focus, we have lost our trust because we have replaced God with other things.
I ask you all as Craig posted a few weeks back ... to pray for our nation, for our leaders and for our churches, to stand up and renew our focus. Some of you may have been hit by this economic down turn, and I am not making light of your situation by any means. And some of you may be crying out to God. Believe me, your prayers are heard, and He will take care of you. But I think in general, as a whole, we need to stand up and proclaim that God is the one to take care of this mess, and to take care of our nation. We as a nation need to return to the Lord. To seek and to trust Him not just with our finances either, but everything.
