We had a pretty good goose shoot on Sat. We ended with 6 geese out of a possible 14.  The weather was not great for the goose hunter, but we made the best of it.  Good goose trade but not easy to decoy.  Shooting could have been better too.  Couple of gun malifuctions even a a Beneli SBE the other was a shell issue with some Kent fast steel???  All in all good shoot thankful for what God allowed us...

Our opener wasn't too bad here on the Western shore of MD.  Despite that fact that I had some greenhorns with me that took a little while to figure out how to get up out of a layout and shoot.  Not a ton of birds moving, and I really had to work hard with some aggressive calling.

Here is a picture of 2 first timers out (Mike & Gene).  I am behind the camera.

All in all, it was a fun morning.  Had 7 different flocks comit.  All birds taken with the exception of one was a juvenile.

Went out this morning (Monday the 23rd) to another farm.  We have rain moving through the area (Supposed to have been this morning).  Rain isn't going to get here till later today, which is behind what they were saying yesterday.  This morning we set up in a different field then saturday.  Birds were not moving at all this morning.  Had one flock interested, I didn't call the shot thinking they were going to circle one more time ... I was wrong .... but that's huntin.

Next outing will be Thanksgiving morn.

the other was a shell issue with some Kent fast steel???

Jay,
What happened?? Did the shell not go off when the trigger was pulled???
Just curious because, while I don't shoot Kent, I have seen it happen several times over the last 3 years with people that have gone with me.

Congrats on a succesfull opening day down there too by the way.

shells would not cycle properly in gun seemed like brass was a little too large and the semi auto would slow down and not quite cycle on about every third shell.
Mine were fine kent 3" 1 1/4 oz. BB 1425fps red hull.
The ones that were problem were 3" 1 1/8 BBB 1450fps grey hull.
I have now heard of several people having problems all different.
