How to be effective.

Here's a passage that has been hitting me the last few days. If I want to be effective for God. If I want to be successful for Him, then I must remain in Him. I can not do it alone. Doing it alone means that I will not get the support from Him, the nourishment to keep going. I will only wither. This passage also says that it is a two way relationship ... "If you remain in me and my words remain in you ..."

John 15: 5-8 (NIV)

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

My prayer is that God will use me and use us. That we will stay deep and attached to Him.
