Was a beautiful day for the opener, although some nice low clouds would have been nice

But even though I didn''t bag a duck I still had a better day than another there at the refuge. And this brings me to the reason for the post.
As I was making one of two trips to the truck with gear I had to pass by a truck backed up to the gate at the unit I was hunting in. There was a young man sitting on the tailgate ranting about something. A few minutes later on my way back by the young man had calmed down a bit and explained that his first shot of the season and his barrel blew up. More accurately about 6 inches from the breach a piece the size of a quarter had peeled forward. Fortunately God had held him back from taking a second shot.
I finished packing my gear and saw the truck pull out and drive off down the road. A few minutes later I was pulling out and saw that they had left a bag full of decoys that was behind the truck. I stayed for awhile to see if they might come back, but unfortunately they didn''t. I left a note with my phone number in case they did return but havn''t gotten a call.
I''d really like to see them get their gear back. We all know how much it can cost and there aren''t too many that cost is no matter. I''ve called the local SO and left a message with the game wardens and now I''m posting everywhere in hopes someone might hear someone talk of the day they were hunting at the Red Slough WMA, a son''s barrel blew up and they left a bag full of decoys there.
If anyone happens to hear that story send them my way I''ve got a bag of decoys for them.
Blessings,
Rick
