How do you like the Shawn Stahl short reed? Last time I talked with Shawn he was just in the process of working on calls but I never realized that he came out with them?

Great Call, very goosey, and pretty easy to operate, I understand that the SS-1 is a little more advanced and has more range, but for me the SS-2 works great. Shane can give you more insight between the 2 calls. I also picked mine up on calling ducks.com for $70.00 new, so that only makes it better.

last year my lanyard consisted of a Bid Guys Best Sweettalker, Big Guys Best Death Whistle, Foiles Timber Rattler, and a RNT acrylic Microhen.  None of those calls will be on this years lanyard.

This year will consist of a Matthews timber, Matthews open water, C & S preacher (which i am currently working out details on) and a Ducklander trouble maker.

The SS-1 is the higher pitched of the two and excellent hunting call for Lessers as the higher pitch carries further but also is deadly on greaters as well.
the SS-2 is an excellent call for contest calling due to the lower pitches it can produce as well as high notes the call is excellent for hunting giant Canada's.
The combination of the two with multiple hunters will create the illusion of old and young birds making a more full flock sound when hunting Canadian geese....
