Proverbs 23:30-32 (New King James Version)
30 Those who linger long at the wine,
Those who go in search of mixed wine.
31 Do not look on the wine when it is red,
When it sparkles in the cup,
When it swirls around smoothly;
32 At the last it bites like a serpent,
And stings like a viper.
You see the part in the above scripture that says \" When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; \" it is referring to seeing the alcohol in the wine after it has been fermented. Any body who has drank and looked into the glass of a mixed drink has seen this! Therefore pointing to wine that Jesus drank of the time was with out fermentation or alcohol.....
There are two main Hebrew words in the Bible for wine Tirosh and Yayin. Tirosh is always unfermented non-alcoholic grape juice and gladdens the heart and is good for an upset stomach. Yayin is also non-alcoholic when it is fresh and is sometimes referred to as a blessing, but when Yayin becomes fermented it becomes a poison and is severely condemned. Therefore all people should not drink alcohol God shows us this because He is a loving Father who is protecting us from harm .
