Last Day

A Higher Calling Huntin'' Team met up with my good friend Jim for the last day of the Maryland Waterfowl Season 2010-2011. It was decided to hunt the farm that was the same one we hunted opening day of duck back in October.

We saw a ton of woodies, a pintail, mallards up and down the creek all morning. But duck season has been closed since January. We were after the canadas today. We even had a snow goose come over, but just a bit out of range.

At first light we had three geese work us and when the shot was called, we had one bird harvested. This would be the end of our acquistion this morning. Even though I never got to pull the trigger this morning I enjoyed the time together with friends, and viewed the awesome migrations of swans and geese heading north ward, to begin a new season of life all over again.

To all my waterfowling friends who either went with me or let me go with you and to all the landowners who gave A Higher Calling permission ... A big thank you , to you for making it a wonderful season full of great memories... "I enjoyed the pursuit!!!"
