2011 National Day of Prayer

This Thursday, May 5, millions will join together in tens of thousands of groups across the nation for the National Day of Prayer, humbly imploring God''s blessings over this great nation.

We, as a nation, have been blessed for several centuries in ways that no nations before us have seen. Our current President claims that we are not a Christian nation and in fact has excluded National Day of Prayer gatherings and activities from the White House. He also didn''t issue an Easter Proclamation this year, has omitted "Creator" on seven occasions when citing the Declaration of Independence, has given the incorrect national motto (which is "In God We Trust"), and seems determined to not acknowledge the God of the Bible. But presidents that have come before him have understood the important role that Biblical principles have played in our success as a nation:

The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were . . . the general principles of Christianity. JOHN ADAMS
[T]he teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally . . . impossible for us to figure to ourselves what that life would be if these teaching were removed. TEDDY ROOSEVELT
It is truly time for a National Day of Prayer - to turn to God and ask for His continued blessings upon this great nation, in spite of a current administration that is determined to keep our nation as secular as possible. There will be tens of thousands of gatherings around the nation.

To find these locations, you can visit the National Day of Prayer official site; if you''re unable to attend a gathering, they will also have live-streaming coverage of the National Day of Prayer so you can join in from your computer.

Even if you are unable to corporately join others for prayer on May 5, please take time to personally lift up our nation, our government, our leaders, our military, our families, our businesses, our places of worship and ask for God to continue blessing our nation as we turn our face to Him.

In Jesus Name !
