I\'m trying to learn how to call Canada geese and brush up on my duck calling.  Can anyone explain voice inflection?  I think my duck calling is better than average, but I can\'t quite get the right sound out of a goose call.  Maybe a better understanding of voice inflection is what I need?

Voice inflection is using your vocals just as you talk except you are pushing the air up from your diaphragm. At the same time you are using your voice for the first syllable only of the reference word you choose for the call you are trying to make.
Sometimes it is referred to as grunting although I hesitate to use that terminology because then people are bringing the air from the wrong place hence making the call sound gravely because they are overpowering the call with the voice and they end up carrying that through the entire reference word taking away from realistic tone..
I hope that helps..

Wow, I immediately noticed a difference after reading your post and experimenting. Basically what your saying is that the air still comes from the diaphragm, but without the grunt, or voice anywhere except the first syllable? Blowing through the call backwards made me really aware of just how much my voice was impacting the tone. I\'ve never heard of cutting off the voice as you describe, but both my duck and goose calls sound much better! Thanks! Great website by the way.

Is there any way to get your sound clips as mp3? I\'d really like to put them on a CD to practice in my truck.
